• Why it photographs beautifully: It gives a massive nod to the “Dark Academia” and “Bridgerton” aesthetics currently sweeping SoCal. From a photography standpoint, it creates a gorgeous, unexpected focal point in processional portraits and is beautiful, meaningful keepsake to hold onto long after the day ends.

Move over, clear acrylic and basic chalkboard signs. The 2026 welcome moment is all about vibrant, translucent color. Couples are greeting guests with custom, faux-stained glass welcome signs featuring their names and wedding dates rendered in striking geometric or art-nouveau patterns.

• Serpentine Everything: Linear, blocky banquet tables are taking a backseat to winding, S-shaped serpentine tables. They create a natural, flowing layout through a reception space that encourages guest conversation and looks incredibly editorial from a high-angle drone or balcony shot.
• The “Paloma” and Cool Metallic Palettes: While warm gold has reigned supreme for years, 2026 is seeing a massive surge in chrome, silver, and mercury glass finishes. This cool metallic shift is often paired with a sunset-inspired “Paloma” palette (dusty pinks, soft ivories, and muted peaches). Or monochrome accents, capturing the Pacific coast beautifully.
